)
Description [src]
Logarithm of the multiplicity function, computed without ever forming the function itself.
This is the numerically meaningful quantity in the large peak-height regime: $f$ carries a factor $e^{-a\nu^2/2}$ and underflows to zero once $\nu$ grows past a few hundred, while $\ln f$ stays finite and smooth. Anything that differentiates $\ln f$ — the peak-background split bias in particular — should use this rather than take the logarithm of nc_multiplicity_func_castro_eval_full().
